Alaska? That is what I get asked all the time! Alaska is a hidden gem and I would say, "Please visit Alaska!" When we were informed that the military was sending us up to Alaska, I was sad and hurt. My family would be far, I wouldn't be able to drive to any other state, but those feelings changed when we arrived in Anchorage, Alaska. In the heart of the Last Frontier, where rugged landscapes meet the dance of the Northern Lights, my 12 years in Anchorage, Alaska, were an odyssey of breathtaking adventures. Anchored by the thrill of exploration, we embarked on numerous hikes, conquering trails that etched their stories onto the vast wilderness canvas.

Scaling the heights of majestic mountains became a routine, each peak unveiling panoramas that defied belief. The allure of hidden waterfalls beckoned, their cascading beauty weaving a melody with the pristine wilderness. But it was under the ethereal glow of the Northern Lights that Alaska revealed its enchanting soul—a celestial spectacle so profound, words could only hint at the awe it instilled.

Glaciers, ancient and timeless, carved their way through the landscape, creating a spectacle that left an indelible mark on our memories. Encounters with black bears and moose added a touch of wild wonder to our days, reminding us that in Alaska, nature reigns supreme.

The surreal Mountain Views painted a picture-perfect backdrop, almost otherworldly in their grandeur. Each vista, a testament to the raw beauty that defines this land.
